Mental Health

Chico, Lalla-Khira and Junior have all suffered terrible bullying at school so they know first hand what it’s like to go through it. Now more then ever with social media bullying has become an epidemic which causes 22% of suicides amongst teenagers.
Chico and Junior have been the face of anti bullying before and the biggest problem has always been the stigma attached to talking about it. From personal shame or simply not wanting to be called a “SNITCH OR A GRASS”
This is especially prevalent in boys and men where 75% take their lives as apposed to 25% women.
Boys and men seem to find it hard to express their feelings or cry. This has inspired Lalla-Khira single “Boys Cry” to reach out to them and say it’s ok to cry that way we know you need help and we can do something about it.
The statistics are shocking and we are hoping to raise as much awareness to this cause as possible. You can download Lalla-Khira’s single now. All proceeds go to the charity
Chico said: If by highliting this problem saves one or two lives it would have all been worth it
Mental health statistics: suicide

Summary of the key trends contained in this report.highliting
In 2017 there were 6,213 suicides in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
5,821 suicides were registered in the UK and 392 occurred in the Republic of Ireland.
In the UK men remain three times as likely to take their own lives than women, and in the Republic of Ireland four times more likely.
The highest suicide rate in the UK was for men aged 45-49.
The highest suicide rate in the Republic of Ireland was for men aged 25–34 (with an almost identical rate for men aged 45–54).
There has been a significant decrease in male suicide in the UK, and the male suicide rate is the lowest in over 30 years.
The suicide rate in Scotland decreased between 2016 and 2017 – this appears to be driven by a decrease in the female suicide rate.
Suicide in young men in Scotland increased for the third consecutive year in 2017.
Suicide has also continued to fall in both males and females in the Republic of Ireland.
Rates in the Republic of Ireland have fluctuated more than in the UK in recent years, but it is currently at its lowest since 1989.

Teenage Suicide Statistics:

Data from the Office for National Statistics shows in 2015 there were 168 males aged 10 to 19 and 63 females in the same age group who took their own lives.
The total figure of 231 is the highest it has been since 2001 when 240 youngsters committed suicide.
A study last year found 22 per cent of young suicide victims had been bullied and 15 per cent had suffered abuse or neglect. There was also a link to social media and exam stress.

Children’s Steyis Larnaca Cyprus

One of the most fantastic days we had was was seeing this children’s home where they had children from all walks of life, mostly abused by their parents, or guardians physically and emotionally, we bought them a Large TV, singing set and other electronics so they can finally watch their favourite movies on.

Seeing their faces light up as though it was the best thing that they have ever received was a sight we will never forget, We couldn’t take any pictures for obvious reasons which is security for their protection from the abuse they suffered at the hands of their guardians at the time, some stories were heart breaking but to just give them a moment of unconditional love and seeing their little faces light up was priceless.

As the lady in charge said; When you receive something your hands are full, but when you give something your heart is FULL. Our hearts were certainly full. Thank you, you certainly melted our hearts

@Fams

I met this young lady in a town in Scotland, she stopped me and just wanted a picture with me. She was collecting for FAMS which is a charity they started to help people who’ve gone through murder and suicide. The Rainbow Child Foundation always helps those people in serendipitous moments where we meet people doing good and just feel that RCF was destined to help them out, so we did. What a great job they are doing, and thank you for stopping me to say hi which lead to this. Thank you for the great work you are all doing.

L’enfance C’est L’espoir

This was one of the hardest trips for us, seeing this wonderful orphanage and the amazing job they do which is never ever refusing a child. The biggest problem in Morocco is people having children out of wedlock which in a Muslim country is a big taboo, so the mothers just dump them in the street or at the door of this orphanage, they take on disabled kids too and they truly give them a start in life until someone can adopt them into a good family.

RCF sends Cerebral Palsy sufferer Kyan to healing centre

What Amazing people with hearts of gold. Kyan was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and as parents we were looking for treatment anywhere in the world that would better Kyan's life. We met a lovely couple Chico and his wife who really felt our pain and without a shadow of doubt these wonderful people wanted to help this little boy who was suffering very much. At the age of 18 months, Chico and his team arranged for kyan and his parents to travel to Serbia for 3 weeks at a specialist rehab centre for Cerebral Palsy.

It was a dream come true we are forever in debt to Chico and his team. Kyan has shown amazing progress, without people like this we would have been lost and it has shown us there is a God out there who sends amazing people like Chico to do wonderful work and make a change to peoples lives. May god bless you for all you and your team have done.

Our sincere love always, Kyan and his parents
